Ascent Vocals offers a contemporary vocal ensemble for high school students that rehearses in Longmont. They hold their own performances, as well as perform at area festivals and collaborate with other local arts organizations.
The goal is to have fun, sound great, and build a community with other singers around the area! We create an inclusive and encouraging environment, in which ALL students feel valued and safe. We build a culture of positivity and fun, and then help our students to sing musically, take risks, and learn new skills. We believe in the power of music education, and we strive to ensure our students receive a well-rounded experience (including music literacy skills and proper vocal technique), using music that is familiar and easily accessible.
Members of these ensembles also have the opportunity to learn genre-specific skills such as healthy and stylistically appropriate singing, beatboxing, modeling instruments sounds using only their voice, modifying technique to adjust for the presence of sound support, and performing in various contemporary styles.

HIGH SCHOOL CONTEMPORARY ENSEMBLE
When & Where: Wednesdays at Altona Middle School
Tuition: $270/semester -Tuition assistance and payment plans are readily available!
Who: Students currently in 9th-12th grade
Come meet and sing with other passionate singers in the area! The high school ensemble is an ensemble in which students will be able to develop solid musicianship skills, have fun, and perform with a live band. This group focuses on learning and performing contemporary songs, many of which are performed a cappella (no instruments). The ensemble also performs accompanied music. Music selection includes various contemporary styles such as rock, jazz, pop, folk and more.
Students will be expected to commit to regular rehearsals and all performances, as well as some practice on their own between rehearsals. You'll love it - we've got some cool people!
